World of Tanks Xbox 360 Edition: European Beta Release

In other languages: ru pl de fr es tr cs

“From our early technical beta testing we’ve seen tremendous numbers of players get into the game and experience first-hand what’s made World of Tanks such a global phenomenon,” said Denny Thorley, General Manager at Wargaming West in Chicago. “We’re extremely thankful for their input on how the game is coming along and can’t wait to get even more players from North America, Canada, and Europe into the game.”

We are thrilled to inform you that World of Tanks Xbox 360 Edition is now live in Europe! It is now possible to apply for invite codes and download the client. We will be releasing beta access codes to registered players on a weekly basis.

In addition to this, we are also introducing multilingual support for the Xbox 360 version, equivalent to that which we are already providing for the PC version. It will cover English, German, Polish, Czech, Spanish, French and Turkish.

Please note that the Xbox 360 Version has been designed specifically for console gameplay and as such it may differ from the PC version in many aspects. These are the main differences:

  • Simplified garage
  • Redesigned HUD (Heads Up Display)
  • Tutorial focused for each vehicle class
  • Freeworld network (no European/North American/Russian server division)
  • In-game communication strictly via headset (no keyboard)

In addition to this, the Xbox 360 Version will require a separate account, which will be automatically created with your Xbox gamer tag.

In-game content available during the beta phase:

  • German vehicles (up to Tier VIII on selected lines)
  • American vehicles (up to Tier VIII on selected lines)
  • 6 maps
  • 3 game types (standard, assault and encounter)

Please note that we are planning to extend all the tech trees up to Tier VIII at a later stage of the beta and introduce further content progressively.
